How to set up TRAKTOR for the Pioneer CDJ-400
First of all, make sure you have installed the latest version of TRAKTOR. Updates are available through the Service Center or through the personal Update Manager on our website.
To set TRAKTOR to work with your Pioneer CDJ-400 controller, follow these steps:
- Run your Setup Wizard : Help > Start Setup Wizard.
- In the appearing window, TRAKTOR will ask you what hardware you intend to use. Choose "Pioneer" as manufacturer and "CDJ-400" as device. Press "Apply". TRAKTOR is now ready to run with your Pioneer CDJ-400 controller!
The .tsi MIDI mapping file is located on your Harddrive. You can find it here:
MAC:
User>Documents>Native Instruments>Traktor>Settings>MIDI Mappings>Pioneer>Pioneer - CDJ-400.tsi
Windows XP:
My Documents>Native Instruments>Traktor>Settings>MIDI Mappings>Pioneer>Pioneer - CDJ-400.tsi
Windows Vista:
Documents>Native Instruments>Traktor>Settings>MIDI Mappings>Pioneer>Pioneer - CDJ-400.tsi
Note: In the same folder, you will find a .pdf file named exactly like the .tsi file. It contains a precise description of the MIDI-mapping for your Pioneer CDJ-400.
Important Note : The MIDI-mapping files in TRAKTOR are not exactly the same as those of the TRATKOR LE versions. TRAKTOR has more functionalities (effects, for example) than the TRAKTOR LE versions and the MIDI-mappings have to take this into account. For a precise description of the actual MIDI-mapping, see the previous note.
